This is our #1 priority. We don’t just "dust" our rugs; we restore them. Every Keshrug goes through a rigorous, traditional 5-step cleaning process in the Moroccan sun:
- Deep Beating: To remove decades of dust.
- River Washing: Using natural soap and water (never harsh chemicals).
- Sun Bleaching: Natural sanitization by the Atlas sun.
- Repair: Our artisans re-knot any loose ends or weak fringes.
- Final Inspection: We ensure it arrives in your home fresh, soft, and odorless.

Because they are human, not machines.
Unlike factory-made rugs which are perfect squares, a vintage Keshrug was woven on a portable loom by a nomad woman who moved with the seasons. The slight fade (called Abrash) comes from natural dyes aging in the sun, and the irregular shape proves it is truly handmade.

Vintage rugs (20+ years old) have the advantage here: they have already done most of their shedding! You might see a small amount of "fluff" in the first few weeks as the rug settles into its new home, but it is minimal compared to a brand-new wool rug.

For all our collectors in the USA, UK, Europe, and Australia, Keshrug covers all customs duties and import taxes. We ship via DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), which means we handle the paperwork and pay the fees on your behalf.
The price you pay at checkout is the final price. No hidden costs, no shock bills at the door—just your beautiful rug arriving safely.

Once your rug is packed (usually within 24-48 hours), it typically arrives in:

Vacuum: Once a week (use the suction attachment, avoid the rotating brush bar which can pull the wool).
Sun: Every few months, flip it over in the sun for an hour. UV light kills bacteria naturally.
Snow: If you live in a cold climate, the traditional method is to flip the rug face-down in clean snow! It freezes dust mites and deep cleans the fibers.
