From wool to home

Strength, measured in knots.

A KeshRug carries about 2000 knots per square metre, each one tied by hand, each row beaten down tight against the last before the next begins. That density is the rug's skeleton: it's why the pile stands instead of flattening, why edges hold their line for decades, and why real hand-knotted wool barely sheds, every fibre is anchored, not glued. Density isn't a luxury spec. It's simply what happens when someone ties a rug slowly enough to tie it properly.

Softness, earned in water.

Off the loom, a rug is strong but stiff, the wash is what wakes it up. Each rug is washed 2 times and dried in open air, and the water does two things at once: it opens the pile so every knot blooms to full thickness, and it rinses the wool down to its lanolin, the natural oil that gives real wool its low glow and that almost-buttery feel underfoot. The softness our buyers call "plush, squishy, cuddly" isn't added. It's uncovered.
