How to choose

Three questions. Then your rug.

Liking everything is the hardest way to buy one rug. So here's the whole decision, in order: new or found once, calm or colour, and the size that fits. Answer honestly — the rug chooses itself.

Question one

Woven new for you — or found once, ever?

This is the biggest fork, and there's no wrong side of it. It's about your room, your timing, and your taste for stories:

  • Made to order

    Yours before it exists.

Woven for you on our looms over 3–4 weeks — your exact size to the centimetre, your colours in real wool. Before it ships, you approve a photo of the finished rug. It leaves only when you say so.

Choose this ifYou want it exactly right — the size, the colours, the certainty. The wait is part of what makes it yours.

  • Vintage

Woven once. Found once. Yours once.

A real vintage piece, found by us, professionally washed, and described honestly — wear and all. It exists exactly once, and it ships now.

Choose this ifYou want it soon, you love one-of-a-kind, and a rug with a past life sounds like a feature — because it is.

Question two

Are you a Beni person, or a Boujaad person?

Our rugs come in two characters. Most people know theirs within one scroll:

The calm one

Beni Ourain — the rug that made Moroccan rugs famous.

An ivory ground of deep, soft pile with simple dark line work across it. It doesn't decorate a room so much as quiet it — the rug your feet remember and your eyes rest on.

At home in calm rooms: minimalist, Japandi, Scandinavian — anywhere neutrals do the talking.

The colour one

Boujaad — colour first. Questions later.

Warm reds, oranges and pinks in patterns that follow the weaver's mood more than any rulebook — no two ever repeat. You'll know a Boujaad by its colour before you know it by its name.

At home in warm, collected rooms: bohemian, eclectic, colourful — anywhere the room already has opinions.

Can't tell which you are? Look at your sofa. Grey, white or beige — you're probably a Beni person. If your room already owns some colour, a Boujaad will walk in like it lives there.

Question three

The size — and one word on colour

  • The size

Measure the room. We'll do the rest.

Room by room, rule by rule — front legs on, chairs stay on, size up when torn — it's all in the Size Guide. And if your room is an odd one, we weave to the centimetre.

    Open the Size Guide
  • The colour

Start from what the room owns.

Pick colours from what's already there — walls, sofa, floor — not from a trend. And never decide off a screen: order a swatch and hold the real wool first. Screens lie about colour. Wool doesn't.

Still torn?

Two ways to be sure.

Take the finder — five questions, then your rug. Or bring your room photos and your doubts to Youssef, who does this all day.

Either way, nothing ships until you're happy. That's the whole idea.
